The Enveloper
In this week’s Inside Scoop, I talked about a new favorite tool of mine called The Enveloper, which makes envelopes in 9 different sizes. As a cardmaker, I love the look of an envelope that coordinates with my cards… I also make mini “pocket” books by binding together several envelopes, and use envelopes on my scrapbook pages to hold memorabilia.
I had lots of emails asking for more information about the Enveloper, so our friends at Crafter’s Companion shared these step-by-step photos and instructions.

Envelope sizes include:
- A 1/2 US letter size (start with an 11 1/4” square of paper)
- A 1/4 US letter size (start with an 8 1/4” square of paper)
- A 1/3 US letter size tri-fold (start with a 10” square of paper)
- 1/2 depth tri-fold (start with 6 3/4” square of paper)
- 6” square (start with a 9 5/8” square of paper)
- 4” square (start with a 7” square of paper)
- 8 1/2”x3” Slimline (start with a 9” square of paper)
- 5 1/2”x3” Short Slimline (start with a 7” square of paper)
- 3 1/2”x2 1/2” ATC size (start with a 5 1/2” square of paper)
You can also use this tool to make dimensional “envelo-boxes”, which are perfect for those 3-D or lumpy cards with embellishments—just by using the same technique, but scoring a double set of lines at each corner.
And yes, the Enveloper does come with these instructions, plus other tips, on the packaging. You get a scoring board plus scoring tool, and the scoring board has 4 embossing patterns for decorating the envelope flaps.
Customer Agnes also asked about what kind of adhesive to use on the flaps when selling the envelopes with cards. My thought is to put a piece of double-sided tape on each of the three sides of the flap, keeping the liner on the tape. Then, once the customer has signed and inserted the card in the envelope, he or she can just peel off the tape liner and seal the envelope.
Another tip: We’ll have a Webisode on the Enveloper as part of our next Week of Webisodes…coming this spring!
Thanks to Vi, Tootsie, Agnes and Karen for your questions!

Hey Sara, I own one too and I really like to match the envie with the card I'm creating. 12X12 sheets are perfect to cut to size so I tend to use the scrapbook kits to make the card and envelope so they match. As for the glue there's a glue which dries but become moistable (sp?) again to adhere the envelope flap. Turning your home made envie into a 'real' envelope. The only drawback is that I find the applicator is a bit thick so I tend to put a strip of paper to reduce the width. Now come to think of it what a palaver....I'm better off with your tip and use double sided tape ! LOL Thanks for sharing your tips Sara, truly appreciate. X Fab

Fab, I have used a glue stick (mine is from the Martha Stewart collection.)You put it on and either let it dry for a removable seal or immediately put it on the surface you are gluing the piece to. The removable or temporary seal works really well for envelopes. :)
