Ask Sara Column: Folding Template

Crafts ‘N Things has always been one of my favorite magazines—I love that it includes all kinds of crafting projects. (Okay, and my friend Abby Foster is the amazing editor!) Well, I write a regular papercrafting column called “Ask Sara” and the February column was a little confusing (my fault!) so I wanted to use this space to clear things up a little.

The question was on creating cards for a garden group, and I suggested using one of the Giant Fold-It Flower templates to make flower-shaped cards. Lots of readers then emailed me to ask where the template was…they had been looking in the magazine for a pattern, as CNT provides lots of patterns.

Also, the projects shown in the column are from two different flower card templates. The first (with the blue floral paper) is from our Giant Spiral Card template, and the second (the open/ white card) is from our Giant Fold-It Flower Card template. Confusing!

You really need the template in order to create the cards—and the template (being a “giant” card) actually measures 12”x12”…a bit too large to put in the magazine. Again, I’m sorry for the confusion and hope this clears things up a bit. In the meantime, do check out the templates and take a look at these projects!

Oh, yes, and if you have a question you’d like addressed in Crafts ‘N Things, email me at asksara@hotp.com!

PS. On the advice of several crafty friends, I’ve signed up for Facebook….and now am hopelessly addicted. As designer Paris Dukes said, “Welcome to the time-suck that is Facebook!” She’s sooo right….
