Computer Journaling on Tags

I’ve had a LOT of emails this week on computer journaling—several people who saw last week’s Tapestry Webisode loved the look of journaling on tags…but weren’t sure how to achieve the same effect as LeNae did in this layout. Here’s how:
First print your journaling on a piece of regular computer paper. This is so you can check the size and placement of the text. Place your tag on top of the printed text on the 8.5”x11” computer paper and hold it up to a light source like a window, lamp or lightbox. You’ll be able to see if the text fits in the space of the tag and you can position the tag so the text doesn’t overlap any decorative elements that might already be printed on the tag. Once you’re happy with the placement, use a repositionable glue or lightly tape the tag onto the computer journaled sheet, directly over the text. Then run it through the printer again exactly the same way you did before. The text will print onto your smaller paper in just the right place.
If you wanted, you could do the same thing to print directly onto your blank card—just plan where the text will go, tape down your card and print. And if you’re a lucky one with a 12”x12” printer you could also print directly onto your background paper.

One Webisode viewer also emailed about the white journaling shown on some of the projects. These sentiments are actually pre-printed onto the tags...so you don’t have to do anything! But if you wanted to print in white on a dark paper, you can go to the area on your computer (mine on Word is under “font”) and choose the ink color—so you could print in red, blue, white or whatever!

Just a little post to help some people out: you can't print in white. So sorry... What you have to do to achieve the white letter effect is to print the background and leave the letters blank! If you print on white paper now you get white letters.
