It’s already October?

I can’t believe it’s already October—yet all I have to do is look out my window at the rain, thunderclouds and wind to know it’s time to change my lightweight coat for a heavier one.

Last week in Stockholm I was absolutely amazed at the beautiful fall leaves…I haven’t seen fall colors like this, except in New England. And what a beautiful city Stockholm is—if you can get a chance, go visit! The people are so friendly (a special thanks to the man who explained the subway system to me), there are tons of terrific museums and the harbors and buildings are gorgeous. And if you like style and design, Stockholm has it absolutely everywhere, from great household items and furniture to paintings and art, to clothing. (They also have some really cool vintage clothing stores!) The food is simple, fresh and delicious. The only thing I struggled with was finding a good cup of coffee…I think I’m used to the Dutch version! (But the chocolate…no problem!)

Next week I’m packing my bags (the lightest ones…remember my stairs) and heading for the States. We’ll do Webisode taping, then I’m spending a week with my family…can’t wait!

PS. A few more Stockholm photos are in the Gallery!

Doris Garcia:

Hi Sara: It must be so interesting to be able to travel and see the different cultures. I lived in Germany when I was small. Although I don't remember much of it (except maybe the winter cold), I do remember visiting France, Spain, Denmark and Holland (lots of windmills). Here I am 30+ years later and I still treasure the experience, as I'm sure you will. Love the Gallery by the way.
