Canals, Clogs and Rembrandt

What do canals, clogs and Rembrandt have in common with Hot Off The Press?
Amsterdam! (Yes, Amsterdam.) The news is leaking out, so I figure I should post the official version of my upcoming move to The Netherlands. Here's what happened: Keith was offered a job at the Amsterdam office of Intel and we just couldn’t resist the opportunity.

The end result? I still work for HOTP (I can't imagine ever working anywhere else) and yes, there will still be Weekly Webisodes. But no, we won't be shooting on location in Amsterdam, like SOME people here have suggested. In fact, I'll be coming back every two months for trade shows and company meetings. The rest I'll do with the help of video conferencing and email. It'll definitely be a challenge, but I can't imagine passing up the chance to live in Europe.

It won't happen until next month, and it won't be forever... about a year and a half. I just know the time will fly and I'll be back home before I know it! In the meantime, I'll enjoy the Rembrandts, the canals and posting to you from Amsterdam.

PS. I don't know who it was harder telling the news to...Paulette or my mom! :)

So the news is finally out then? Good luck with your move, I'm sure you'll both have a great time in Amsterdam. And don't forget I'm available if you want help packing & unpacking again ;o)

Rhonda:

What a wonderful opportunity, Sara! Having lived in Europe two different times in my life I know the benefits of living vs. vacationing there. I'm sure you'll have a great time! Very happy, btw, that you will be staying at HOTP. This company remains my favorite of all the scrapbook companies out there and I can't wait til the next catalog! Good luck and enjoy every minute of your stay in the Netherlands...Rhonda in Tennessee~~~

Catherine:

Sara,

Sounds like a super opportunity! Best of Luck! I, too, am happy that you will be staying with HOTP - LOVE those weekly webisodes. Just watch out though - my husband and I took a 1 1/2 year field assignment with the company we were working for in Feb 1995. We are still here!

How absolutely exciting Sara and I'm so excited to hear that you are staying with HOTP!! I too love the webisodes (as you've seen from my emails) and am just sitting here thinking of all the fun pages you'll make to remember your time in Europe. I can't wait for the day we can afford to go on a special vacation and take pictures for my scapbooks!! From my family to yours, wishing you the best and blessings overseas!!

Hi Sara,
how nice that you come to our country!
It might be fun to compare the scrapbook'-styles', -stores and -materials from both countries!
Good luck and have fun here!

Beverley Offenberg:

Dear Sara,
It's was wonderful to hear that you are here in Holland. A while back, you helped me with two projects that are are near and dear to my heart. I would love the opportunity to thank you in person.

If you are teaching or participating in any projects, I would love to attend, thats an understatement.

I am continuing to enjoy the weekly webisodes and am truly inspired by you and Paulette.

I hope that you and your family have the time of your lives here in Europe.

Greetings from Amstelveen!
Beverley (expat from L.A.)
