Product Development On the Go!
Funny things happen when you get on a plane with Paulette. This week we headed to Cleveland for a one-day conference…by the time our plane arrived back in Portland (at midnight!) we’d planned out three new product lines for summer 2007. I can’t say much (although I’m dying to!) but just to let you know I’m researching collage techniques for a new book and sourcing new collage-able surfaces. I’ll keep you posted!

Congratulations on your new blog. I'm looking forward to reading it frequently. I always watch your webisodes also. I love everything you and Paulette demonstrate there, and most important to me, you're always having fun. I love scrapbooking but am not very skilled at thinking up new ideas. Thank goodness for webisodes. I am currently working on a quilled page and am loving how it's turning out.

HOTP is the best thing going in the scrapbook world! I can't wait to get my new catalog each season and I especially love the coordinating papers in the "sarapapers" and "Busy Scraper's Solution" line. I have them all and are looking forward to the next collections...I only wish you guys would come to my neck of the woods (Nashville, TN) to offer classes...Great to see your new blog, Sara, and I hope you'll keep us posted on new papers (my scrappin' addiction!) that will be coming out at HOTP!

I love the new Blog and can't wait to read the next posting!! I've been a big fan of Hot Off The Press for years and particularly like sarabooks and binders - oh! and the personal shopper kits. I can't imagine life without them anymore.
Once again sara, you have inspired me! So much so that even though I'm across the pond in the UK I've started a Blog of my own and am making lots of Sara binders as gifts this year.

I have liked a lot of your papers and have several collections. I seem to be moving away from small floral prints and would enjoy larger , maybe outline shapes.
I started scrapbooking when I was about 64 and not only were my children no longer little, even my granchildren were past the baby stage. I have never made a "cute baby" page, even though I normally have at least 2 or 3 pages going. I get really discouraged that all the magazines have page after page of baby pictures--don't those children's mothers have anything else going on in their lives?
A while back one of the magazines had an article about scrapping your everyday life, and that has been a source of inspiration to me.
Do you realize how many women and girls in the U.S. participate in English riding activities? How many people go to Society for Creative Anachronism events? How many schools run fundraising events? Most of the young women I know have jobs, at least part time. People do grocery shopping, balance checkbooks, make clothes for themselves and their children, visit other people, mow their lawns and plant flowers. But all the magazines just go along year after year showing cute baby pictures to illustrate every technique, and for every holiday. And since this is what the magazines are showing, I guess scrapbooking manufacturers figure that is all anyone wants to see in themed products. Somebody is missing a bet somewhere.
